The Circuit Court for Baltimore County entered summary judgment on behalf of two emergency department physicians represented by ACK. The patient presented with a severe nosebleed. Despite the efforts of the emergency department physicians, the patient died a matter of hours later. The plaintiffs claimed the emergency department providers did not adequately treat the nosebleed and the patient’s death was caused by their negligence. On behalf of the emergency department physicians, Bob Bouse and Kristina Miller argued that these physicians fully complied with the standard of care, and the patient succumbed to an underlying bleeding disorder and other significant comorbidities. The Circuit Court for Baltimore County granted summary judgment in favor of the emergency department physicians.
